Rosey's Letter - 18th October 2004 - Celebrating St. Luke Celebrating St. Luke: 18th October
Every Thursday morning at our quiet service of Holy Communion, there is the opportunity to receive individual prayer, with the laying on of hands, for a specific need for healing, whether your own, or that of someone for whom you are concerned. For people who are at work, this is obviously an impossible time. 18th October, however, is St. Luke’s Day, when we call to mind Luke the Physician, an early follower of Jesus, traditionally thought to have been the author of the third gospel (which has a particular interest in the healing stories of Jesus) and of the Acts of the Apostles. To celebrate St. Luke, there will be a service of Holy Communion, at 7.45pm., at which there will be an opportunity for prayers for healing, with laying on of hands. All are welcome.
