The Cross Tree Centre Our new parish centre will be known as The Cross Tree Centre, taking its name from the 300 year-old tree which grew just below the lych-gate of the church, beside which was an ancient stone cross, now disappeared. This was the old centre of Wraxall.
Why do we need this? Wraxall lost its meeting room when the Old Rectory was sold - we need to replace it! Our parish wants to develop facilities which will enable us to serve the needs of our growing community, both young and old. The old church school (Grade II listed) built in our church-yard in 1809, and known locally as 'The Library', is in need of repair. Restored and extended, it will provide the ideal location for a parish centre which will be a focal point for the life in Wraxall. Before:

What difference will this make? Currently we are struggling without a meeting room. This centre will provide new possibilities for serving the community, and will enable the life and work of our parish to develop and flourish. At last we will have somewhere for:
This will be a place where people of our parish can celebrate and meet together, as well as the focal point for the working life of our church. How much will it cost and how can YOU help? The total cost of the Cross Tree Centre project will be £330,000 (including fixtures and fittings). So far £300,000 has been raised by grants, gifts and local fundraising. We need your help to make the final push - to raise the last 10% to make this dream a reality. If you would like to help, please send your gift to:
If you are a tax payer, could you consider making any donation under the Gift Aid Scheme, to add 25p to every £1 you donate. Most importantly, please pray for the success of this project, which will help us to serve, care for and welcome the people of the parish.
